Carl Joe Magers

Carl Joe Magers, 65, of La Porte, passed away on Saturday, December 10, 2022 at home, with family by his side.

Carl was born on May 19, 1957 in La Porte, IN, to Garland and Imogene (Burger) Magers.

On April 11, 1992 in La Porte, he married Kimberly Arlene Abiney who survives.  Also surviving are his children, Bryan (Noelle Conklin) Magers of Rolling and Kimber Magers of La Porte; 2 grandchildren, Connor and Whitney Magers of Rolling Prairie; sisters, Diana Widener of Walkerton and Barbara Welkie of South Carolina; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Karen Magers; son, Brett Magers; daughter, Alyssa Magers; and sister, Connie Lilly.

Carl was a plant manager for over 10 years at Renolit.  He enjoyed fixing things, heavy equipment, and Cubs baseball.  It wasn't uncommon to find Carl out tending to his land and pond, which he enjoyed.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 17, 2022 at Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center with Pastor Gordon Burger, Jr. officiating.  A private family burial will follow the service.

A time of visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. on Friday, December 16, 2022 at Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center and from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service on Saturday at the funeral home.
