Ahlie Abiney, 77, LaPorte, died of natural causes at 11:50 a.m. Wednesday (Dec. 17, 2003) at his home.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Cutler Funeral Home, with Pastor Joe officiating. Burial will be in Swan Lake Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. today and from 8 a.m. until the funeral Friday at the funeral home.
He was born Feb. 21, 1926, in Dowagiac, Mich., to Hassin and Mary (Schoof) Abiney. On Sept. 29, 1962, in Dowagiac, he married Arlene Meadows, who survives.
Survivors also include two sons, Hassin Abiney, Valparaiso, and Patrick (Karen) Abiney, LaPorte; four daughters, Linda Messman, Sara (Timothy) Abiney-Marshall and Kimberly (Carl) Magers, all of LaPorte, and Genia (David) Curl, Walkerton; 12 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; two brothers; and two sisters.
Also preceding Mr. Abiney in death were one son, Jimmy; and one grandson, Tommy Collette.
Mr. Abiney had been the owner of Abiney's Window Tinting since 1970. He was a World War II Navy veteran.
