Alan Gator Brooks

Alan Gator Brooks, 63, of Michigan City, IN, passed away on March 14, 2025 at Northwest Health-Porter.

Alan was born on December 11, 1961, in Michigan City, IN, to Kenneth and Sharon (Wienke) Brooks.

Surviving are his 2 children, Benjamin (Cora) Brooks of South Bend and Kathy Brooks of the Philippines; 4 grandchildren, Keith, Leon, Ashley, and Princess Azumi Brooks-Lumanglas, all of the Philippines; mother, Sharon Brooks; sisters, Mary (David) Morales of Portage and Barbara (Durwyn) Wild of Riverside, CA; special dog, Wink Brooks; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Kenneth Brooks.

Alan proudly served his country in the United States Navy.

He worked many years in administration at US Steel and was a stand-up comedian. Alan was a member of the Writer's Club, the Poetry Club at Michigan City Senior Center, and the Fish Club. He enjoyed hiking, football (Go Blue!), and visiting the zoo. Alan deeply loved his dogs and his family.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, March 21, 2025, at Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center. Burial with Military Honors will follow at Kingsbury Cemetery.

A time of visitation will be held from 4 - 7 p.m. on Thursday, March 20, 2025, and from 10 a.m. until the time of the service on Friday at the funeral home.
