Alan Lindgren, 71, of LaPorte, Indiana, passed away at 6:40 p.m. on Tuesday, November 21, 2006 at LaPorte Hospital.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 25, at the Cutler Funeral Home with Rev. John Vincent officiating. Visitation will be held on Friday from 4:00-8:00 p.m. and on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will be in Pine Lake Cemetery.
Alan was born October 2, 1935, in LaPorte to the late Evald & Edith (Anderson) Lindgren. On February 22, 1969, in LaPorte, he married Barbara (Decker) Walls who survives.
Also surviving are children Tina (Tim) Wolter of Minnesota, Tammy Erdmann of Wisconsin, Lori (Scott) Kessler of LaPorte; D. Kent (Mary) Walls of Texas, Cindy Sinn of Colorado and Keith Walls of Texas; 14 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; brother Ralph (Judy) Lindgren of LaPorte; and sisters Annette (Warren) Hundt, Dolores Buss and Gloria (Wayne) Graffis, all of LaPorte.
Alan had retired from Modines after 39 years.
He was a sports nut. He was an avid bowler and golfer. He loved to watch sports, especially Slicer sports. He loved to cook for his family and friends. He was also a U.S. Army veteran.
