Albert Thomas Spradling, Sr., 78, of Gulfport, FL, and formerly of La Porte, died Friday, November 24, 2017, at Boca Ciega Center.
He was born Augugt 25, 1939 in Mohawk, TN, to George D. and Bonnie (O’Dell) Spradling.
Mr. Spradling was a veteran of the U.S. Army and had retired as a Captain in the La Porte City Police Department. He then served as La Porte County Community Corrections Director before relocating to Florida. He was a member of First Christian Church in Seminole, FL, and a former member of Countryside Christian Church in Michigan City.
On January 1, 1961 in La Porte, he married Beverly Heiss who passed away in 2004.
Surviving are two sons, Tom Jr. (Karen) of Bloomington and Todd E. (Dana) of Fayetteville, NC; eleven grandchildren, Alyssa (Travis) Lozier, Amanda Pittman, Colin (Danyel), Nathan (MaryAnne), Evan (Rebecca), Samuel, Caleb (Kelli), Joshua, Jacob, Luke and Zachary; five great-grandchildren, Alivia, Carter, Ryder, Nash and Elayna; one brother-in-law, William Heiss Jr. of La Porte; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife; parents; brother, Robert; and sisters, Annie Miller, Mary Cowgill and Betty Joe Colston.
A Celebration of Life Graveside Service will be held at 11 AM (CST) on Friday, December 29, 2017 at Patton Cemetery in La Porte.
