Alexander "Zanny" Spurr

October 12, 1921 — December 20, 2007

He was married on June 14, 1947 in LaPorte, IN to Elsie Abraham who survives



Alexander retired as an assembler at Allis Chalmers
He was a member of the American Legion, V.F.W., D.A.V.; He was an Army Paratrooper Veteran of WWII. He was a Platoon Sergeant in the 101st Air Borne where he served in the battle of the Bulge, D.Day Invasion, and the Battle of Bastogne. He received 2 Purple Hearts, Distinguished Service Badge, Silver Star, Bronze Star, and his unit received the first Presidential Unit Citation. Alexander enjoyed story telling, wine making, gardening, playing Santa Claus, and spending time with his grandchildren.
