Alfred A. Serritella, MD, 78, of Chesterfield, Missouri, and formerly of La Porte, Indiana, passed away Saturday, Feb. 7, 2015 in Chesterfield, Missouri.
A visitation will be held from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 11, 2015 at Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center, La Porte, Indiana.
A funeral Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 12, 2015 at St. Peter Catholic Church, La Porte, Indiana.
Alfred was born July 26, 1936, in Chicago, to Carl and Betty (Cohen) Serritella.
He attended medical school at the University of Maryland and practiced as a gastroenterologist in Chicago and La Porte, Indiana.
In 1966, Alfred married Mary A. Zelinka. Following her death in 2006, Alfred married Marilyn Reinhold in 2008.
Alfred is survived by his wife, Marilyn, of Chesterfield, Missouri, formerly of Monterey, Indiana; two daughters, Dr. Tina (Dr. Daniel) Reising of St. Louis, and Nicole Serritella of Ocala, Florida; three grandchildren, Holly Reising, Ella Reising and A.J. Serritella; three nieces, Celeste Matsushima, Yuki Matsushima and Babette Palmer; two nephews, David Palmer and Eddie Matsushima; and many dear friends.
Alfred was preceded in death by his wife, Mary A. Serritella; his parents, Betty and Carl Serritella; two great-aunts, Dorothy LaGuardia and Mary R. Serritella; two sisters, Angeline Palmer and baby girl Serritella; and one brother, Carl Serritella Jr.
Alfred was a man of many interests and talents. He enjoyed travel and spending time with his family.
