Alice Jane Martinez, 53, of La Porte, passed away on Friday, April 22, 2016 at home.
Alice was born in La Porte, IN, on September 22, 1962 to Robert L. Wolfenbarger and Ivah M.(Phillips) Plank.
Surviving are her beloved daughters, Angela (Clint) Martin and Melissa Martinez, both of Lafayette, IN; four grandchildren, Alexis, Noah, Logan and Gavyn; mother, Ivah Plank of La Porte; siblings, Tracy (Tom) Cioch of La Porte, Tammie Preston of La Porte, Dan (Lori) Plank of La Porte, Penny (Jay) Summers of Lonoke, AR, and Keith Wolfenbarger of Valparaiso; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, Robert L. Wolfenbarger; brother-in-law, Bob Preston; and grandmother, Mary Newland.
Alice worked as a Central Sterile Processing Supervisor at Memorial Hospital in South Bend and previously has worked as a surgical technician. She was so appreciative of the compassionate care she received from her hospice nurse, Lorie and the many people involved in her care. She was also very appreciative of the emotional support from all her friends and co-workers. Alice enjoyed spending time with her family, swimming, crafts, shopping, cookouts, riding in the jeep and sports.
A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at 10 am Wednesday, April 27, 2016 at First Church of God with Pastor Roger Ash officiating.
A time of visitation will be held from 4 - 8 pm Tuesday, April 26 at the funeral home and on Wednesday at the church from 9 - 10 am. A cremation committal will take place at the Cutler Cremation Center following the service.
