Alonzo Sims June 22, 1905 - May 16, 2006

Alonzo Sims, 100, Centralia, Mo., formerly of Valparaiso, Ind., died Thursday (May 11, 2006) in Centralia.

The funeral was held Monday (May 15, 2006) at the Fenton Funeral Home, Centralia. Burial was in Glendale Memorial Gardens, Centralia.

Mr. Sims was born June 22, 1905, in Valparaiso to John Francis and Sarah E. (Collier) Sims. On March 6, 1928, in Kouts, Ind., he married Lillian Edith Owen, who died Dec. 7, 1999.

Survivors include two daughters, Mary (Jack) Hendrickson, Quincy, Ill., and Helen (Rick) Jones, Michigan City, Ind.; one son, David (Karen) Sims, Centralia; seven grandchildren; and 13 great grandchildren.

One sister, Naomi F. Walter, also preceded him in death.

Mr. Sims was a retired farmer. He belonged to the Southside Christian Church in Mexico, Mo. Memorial contributions may be made to Countryside Christian Church, Michigan City.
