Andrew Benjamin Daniel

Andrew Benjamin Daniel, beloved husband, father, son, and friend, 35, of La Porte, Indiana, passed away on Tuesday, October 10, 2023.

Andrew "Benji" was born in La Porte, Indiana on August 5, 1988, to Clyde and Millie (Sechrest) Daniel.

On November 19, 2022, in Frankfort, Kentucky, he married his wife, Erica, who survives.  Also surviving are his two children: Allyana and Wyatt Daniel; parents: Clyde and Millie; sisters: Sarah Nelson, Mary Daniel, and Megan Carouchi; five nephews: Calvin Nelson, William Dennis, Dennis Nelson, Cameron Nelson, and Michael Carouchi; grandmother: Mary Daniel; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins; as well as hundreds of friends and military brothers.

He was preceded in death by his grandmother: Lois Sechrest; grandfather: Charles Daniel, Sr.; uncle: John Sechrest, Jr.; and his cousin/best friend: Jeremey Daniel.

Andrew was a proud United States Army Combat Veteran, serving from 2006 to 2013.

He was a mixer/caster at Duneland Monosol and a Teamsters Local 142 steward and member.  Andrew enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing bass, Notre Dame football, and taxidermy.  Throughout his life, Andrew touched so many lives.  He had a unique sense of humor, was too smart for his own good, stubborn as hell, and could solve any problem.  So many people turned to him for advice - whether it was about bourbon, fishing, hunting, or how to fix something.  He always had an answer, and a smart comment, for everything.  Most importantly, Andrew dearly loved his family.  He will be remembered as an amazing husband, father, son, brother, son-in-law, and uncle.

Cremation has taken place with Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center, La Porte.

A Celebration of Life Memorial Gathering will be held from 2-6 p.m. on Saturday, October 21, 2023, at Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to Andrew's wife and children in c/o Erica Daniel at 2900 Monroe Street, La Porte, IN, 46350.
