Ann L. Schuster, 91 years old of LaPorte, IN, passed away on Friday, July 27, 2012 at IU Health LaPorte Hospital.
She was born on February 26, 1921 in Briceville, Tennessee, to the late Mirma Miller and Myrtle Mae (Foust) Wallace.
Ann was married to Lloyd Arthur Schuster on June 30, 1943 in Knoxville, TN.
She graduated from Norris High School and attended Lincoln Memorial University, Harrogate, TN. Ann taught elementary school for a short time in Andersonville, TN, and worked for Whirlpool Corporation in LaPorte until she retired. She was a devoted wife, full-time stay-at-home cookie bakin' mom, an Auxilliary Volunteer at LaPorte Hospital; a member of St. John's Lutheran Church where she served on the Altar Guild and helped with many dinners and activities. She was a friend to many.
Survivors include her sons, Gerald (Judy) Schuster of LaPorte, IN, Roger (Pauletta) Schuster of LaPorte, IN, Gregory (Donna) Schuster of Vancouver, WA; daughter, Beverly Dawn (Jim) Crum of LaPorte, IN; brothers, Jim (Barbara) Wallace of Cincinnati, OH, Joseph Wallace (Kathleen) of Andersonville, TN, Kenneth "Reece" (Christine) Wallace of Heiskell, TN; sisters: Dorothy Beck of Grand Junction, CO, Barbara (Paul) Border of Scottsboro, AL, Mary Thomas of Knoxville, TN, and Jane (Maynard) Lowery of Andersonville, TN; sisters-in-Law: Martha Wallace of Paducah, KY, Edna Wallace of Andersonville, TN; 10 grandchildren, Jennifer, Susan, Brian, Matthew, Melissa, Alison, Christine, Patty, Heather, and Brian; 21 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceeded in death by her husband; her parents, and two brothers, Ray and William (Bill) Wallace.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, July 31, 2012 at St. John's Lutheran Church with Rev. Ronald Brauer officiating. There will be a time of visitation from 4:00 to 8:00 PM on Monday, July 30, 2012 at Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center and from 10:00 AM until the time of service on Tuesday at St. John's Lutheran Church.
Interment will follow in the St. John Lutheran Cemetery.
