Anne M. Tonagel , 86 years old of La Porte, IN, died Friday evening, January 23, 2009 in her home.
She was born July 25, 1922 in Gary, Indiana to the late Andrew and Anna Misko
She married Charles F. Tonagel September 9, 1944 who preceded her in death September 5, 1985
Surviving are her three children; Hugh A. (Kathy) Tonagel of La Porte, Laurie E. (Robert) Wolford of La Porte, & Charlene (Dennis) Lutes of Traverse City, Michigan. Eight grandchildren; Benjamin, Gregory, Joel and Troy Tonagel, Dustin & Hannah Wolford, Annie Lutes-Kelly, & Andrew Lutes. Three Gt. grandchildren; Charlie, Sawyer, & Jace Tonagel
She was preceded in death by two sisters; Agnes Tallos & Marge Knapp, 1 brother Eddie Misko
She worked for La Porte Community School Corporation retiring in 1989
She was a member of First United Methodist Church, La Porte Republican Women's Club,
La Porte 463 GOP Club, Phi Wives and 50 year member of Order of the Eastern Star #280
She received the Honorary Secretary of State of Indiana for decades of work at the election poles for 57 years of service.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday Jan. 29, 2009 at the First United Methodist Church with Rev. Evan Lash. The family will be receiving friends from 4-7:00 PM Wednesday at the Cutler Funeral Home with an Order of the Eastern Star Memorial service at 7:00 PM. Burial will take place at a later time in Kingsbury Cemetery.
