Arthur Cook , 84 years old of LaPorte, IN, died Friday, August 7, 2009 at home.
He was born December 6, 1924 in LaPorte, IN., Son of the late Ernest H. & Nellie M. (Schoff) Cook.
He was married to Josephine R. Cook on June 11, 1949 in LaPorte, IN., who preceded him in death in 1955. He then was married on October 23, 1966 to Joyce (Bull) Cook who survives.
He worked for Allis Chalmers and then retired in 1987 from the LaPorte Post Office. He was an avid bowler and member of several bowling leagues. He was a Cubs and Bears fan, Meals on Wheels volunteer for over 20 years. Arthur was a United States Army Veteran of WWII.
Surviving are 2 daughters; Kathleen Cook of LaPorte, IN., Pamela (Henry) Penn of LaPorte, IN., 3 sons; Gregg Cunningham of Florida, Michael (Sandra) Fischbacher of LaPorte, IN., Randal (Heather) Cook of Calvary, Alberta, Canada, 15 grandchildren and many great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, son; Garth Cunningham, sister; Doris Cornell and brother; Norman Cook.
There will be a Memorial Service at 12:00 P.M. Tuesday, August 11, 2009 at Cutler Funeral Home with Rev. Everett Shattuck officiating. There will be a time of visitation from 9:00 A.M. until the time of service at the Funeral Home. Internment will follow at a later time.
