Averill M. Gribble-Heiman, 93 years old of LaPorte, IN, went home to be with the Lord at I.U. LaPorte Hospital Sunday, Sept. 18, 2011.
She was born December 20, 1917 in Michigan City, Daughter of the late William and Maude( Ellis) Schroeder.
She was a former volunteer at LaPorte Hospital, LaPorte Herald Argus, Meals On Wheels, former member of Ladies Circle of St. Johns Lutheran Church and she attended Door Village United Methodist Church.
She worked at Montgomery Wards, Fox's Woolen Mills and retired from Howmet Corporation after 24 years.
She married Albert Mullinax who preceded her in death, then married Cecil Gribble who prededed her in death and married Harold Heiman for 22 years until his death in 2008. She always looked forward to visits from her brother.
Surviving are her Dtrs: Carol Hudson of Cleveland, TN., Gail Munoz of Covina, CA., Joyce (Tom) Nablo of Union Mills, Margaret James of Puryear, TN. Sons; Allan (Ruth) Gribble of Black Mountain, NC., and Dannie (Karen) Gribble of Hebron, IN. Numerous Grandchildren, Gt. Grandchildren & Gt. Gt. Grandchildren. 2 Nieces Brenda and Sheila
She was preceded in death by her Bro; Dale Schroeder and his wife Fusako Step-daughters; Dorothy Bell & Betty McGing, StepSon: Donald Gribble.
Cremation has taken place and a Memorial Service will be held at 10:30 AM Wed. Sept. 21, 2011 at the Union Mills Cemetery with Rev. Dr. Joseph Loftis officiating. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Cutler funeral Home.
