Barbara Jean Alban

Barbara Jean Alban, 84, of La Porte, IN, passed away, surrounded by her family, on Sunday, November 24, 2024.

Barbara was born on June 3, 1940, in La Porte, IN, to Charles and Mildred (Codding) Fowler.

On July 2, 1960, in La Porte, IN, she married Phillip "Phil" Alban, who preceded her in death. Surviving Barbara are her 2 daughters, Julie (Shawn) Hannon and Cindy (Roger) Jackson, all of La Porte; 2 granddaughters, Erin and Haley Hannon, both of La Porte; step-grandchildren, Roger (Amy) Jackson, Ryan (Emily) Jackson, and Kayte Jackson; brother-in-law, Clyde Alban; as well as many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter, Terri Alban; and brother, Bill Fowler.

Barbara enjoyed working as a caretaker for the elderly. She was a lifetime member of the Women of the Moose. Barbara was also a member of Red Hat Society. She was a professional ceramic painter and was the treasurer for Wills Township Baptist Cemetery for over 30 years. Barbara will be fondly remembered for running BINGO at the Moose Lodge #492.

Cremation has taken place with Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center, La Porte.

A Graveside Service will be held on Friday, December 6, 2024, at Wills Township Baptist Cemetery, La Porte, IN. The family kindly requests for anyone desiring to attend the Graveside Service, to please arrive at Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center by 10:30 a.m. on Friday, where procession to the cemetery will take place.
