Barb Hofer, 86, of Rolling Prairie, Indiana, died on Monday, November 14, 2005 at LaPorte Hospital.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, November 17, at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Rev. Ted Nordquist officiating. Visitation will be from 3:00-7:00 p.m. on Wednesday at Cutler Funeral Home. Burial will be in Pine Lake Cemetery.
Barb was born September 18, 1919, in LaPorte, Indiana to William & Mary (Schmarr) Matve. She married John A. "Jack" Hofer, who survives.
Survivors also include son Gregory (Cathy) Hofer of LaPorte; daughters Pamela (Craig) Cooper of Indianapolis, IN and Barbara (Paul) Bealor of Phoenix, AZ; grandchildren Lauren & Grant Hofer, Nathan Bealor, Kathy Greer, and Bryce & Eric Cooper; sister Mary Deutscher of Rolling Prairie; and brother Henry Matve of Rolling Prairie;
Sisters Rose Gembala, Katherine Evans, Matilda Abrahamson & Helen Masek and brothers William & Stephan Matve preceded her in death.
Barb had retired from the Howmet Corporation in 1985. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and the Wills Township Homemakers Extension Club.
