Bernice "Aunt B" VanAuken, 84, died at 12:10 a.m. on Wednesday, December 28, 2005 at Hamilton Communities.
A memorial service will be held at a later date. There will be no visitation. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Walkerton, Indiana. Arrangements are being handled by Cutler Funeral Home.
Bernice was born July 10, 1921, in Rolling Prairie, Indiana to Jesse W. and Mary (Connor) Jones.
She is survived by nephew Jim Mitcheler of Sawyer, MI; special friends and caregivers Tammy Rehlander of Rolling Prairie, Joanne Buckmaster and Caprice Zeedyk, both of New Carlisle; and several special children that she had the honor or caring for over the years.
Her parents, three brothers and a sister preceded her in death.
Bernice had worked as a waitress in East Chicago and had also worked at Harvel Manufacturing. She was a member of the VFW Auxiliary Post #9123 of Rolling Prairie.
