Betty Koekenberg (Flitter) Etherton, 81, LaPorte, died at 6:30 p.m. Thursday (June 5, 2003) at her home.
A private family graveside service will be held Monday with the Rev. George Vrabely officiating in Oak Grove Cemetery. Cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation. Cutler Funeral Home handled the arrangements.
Mrs. Etherton was born Dec. 12, 1921, in LaPorte, to Joseph A. and Edna (Schoof) Flitter.
On Sept. 14, 1973, in LaPorte, she married Jack Etherton, who survives in LaPorte.
Survivors also include three daughters, Jeanne (Mark) Campbell, Pati (Grant) Breseke, and Joan (Ricki) Hensell, all of LaPorte; one son, Mike (Lydia) Koekenberg, LaPorte; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; four step-children; three sisters, Shirley Robinson, May Heninger and Ellen Jones; and five brothers, Tom, Jerry, John, Chuck and Ed Flitter.
Mrs. Etherton had worked for Austenal for 21 years.
