Betty J. McKinney, age 97, of La Porte, passed away on December 18, 2013 at her home.
She was born February 26, 1916 in Newport, IN, daughter of the late Paul and Flossie (Wiltermood) Carmack.
Betty was married on September 26, 1936 to Harold A. McKinney who preceded her in death in 1972.
Surviving are her children, Paula (Ben) Gray of Marion, IN, Chuck (Sharon) McKinney of Goodletsville, TN, Marilyn Butler of La Porte, Susan Cole of Atwater, CA; 9 grandchildren, David Gray of Marion, IN, Mary (Mark) Wutka of Nashville, TN, Tim (Diana) McKinney of Indonesia, Kirsten (Trey) Traugber of Fayetteville, NC, Scott Butler of LaPorte, Susan (Rocky) Stallcup of LaPorte, Shelly (Jon) Lewis of LaPorte, Steven (Xuerong) Cole of Australia, Pamela (Dean) Huback of CA; 18 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandsons, Aiden Norris, and Ethan Kinsey.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold A. McKinney; her parents; and 2 sons-in-law, Dale Butler and Dallas Cole.
Betty attended Grace Baptist Church and was an avid Chicago Bulls fan.
A time of visitation will be held from 11 AM - 1PM on Saturday, December 21, 2013 at Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center. A private family celebration of life service will be held at 1PM following the visitation on Saturday at the funeral home with Rev. Ben Gray officiating. Interment will follow at Pine Lake Cemetery, La Porte.
