Bill L. Daniels, 73, of Tucson, AZ, formerly of La Porte/Michigan City, IN, passed away on December 16, 2017 at the Casa De Luz Hospice in Tucson, AZ.
Bill was born Valentine’s day February 14, 1944 in Bono, Arkansas to Youen Daniels and Jewel Carter Daniels.
Bill was a former auto salesman for the Pine Chevrolet dealership in La Porte, IN for 19 years. He enjoyed teaching others the art of selling and enjoyed having life long customers. He moved to Tucson, AZ, and married Shirl Meyer on his birthday in 2007. There was a double rainbow that day and Bill always said the marriage was blessed as this was a sign from God. Bills faith was very important to him. He attended AA and was a recovering alcoholic with 33 years of sobriety at the time of his death. Bill read his bible everyday which which helped him conquer his addiction and also mentor and guide other recovering alcoholics over the years. His time was spent watching Fox News and keeping everyone informed on the daily happenings in the world according to Fox News. He didn’t much like to engage conversations with visitors but would engage if encouraged by Fox fans or President Trump. For a man without any political convictions, his last years were filled with politics. He also enjoyed a good western on the tv, his daily bike rides, and he became an exceptional house husband, taking care of the daily duties to make life easier for his wife. Bill loved his daughters and was happy they found love like he had. He will be missed.
Surviving are his beloved daughters, Pamela (Eric Johnson) Daniels of Cincinnati, OH, Kristen (John Cary) Daniels of Marion, IA, and Elizabeth (James) Carter of Michigan City, IN; stepson, Mike (Andrea) Meyer; and four grandchildren: grandson, Jordan Carter and step-granddaughters, Mikayla Meyer, Madelyn Rose Meyer, and Brigid Mary-Michael Meyer.
He has survived by his sister, Evelyn (Will) Good of South Bend, IN and two brothers, Ernie (Deborah) Daniels of New Buffalo, MI, and Ronnie (Sharon) Daniels of Michigan City, IN.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Youen Daniels and Jewel Green, and sister, Pat Moore (Jay).
