Billie M. Hauber, 67, LaPorte, died at 2:55 a.m. Tuesday (Jan. 27, 2004) at LaPorte Hospital
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Cutler Funeral Home, with the Rev. Chris Fields officiating. Burial will be in Pine Lake Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Thursday and from 9 a.m. until the service Friday at the funeral home.
She was born Dec. 16, 1936, in Louisville, Ky., to William and Geneva (Norris) Troutman. On March 25, 1954, in Las Vegas, she married Richard Hauber, who survives.
Survivors also include two sons, Keith (Kay) Hauber, Merillville, and Eric Hauber, Michigan City; two daughters, Vickie (Butch) Machler, LaPorte, and Kim Hauber, Michigan City; eight grandchildren, Bridget, Richard, Lindsey, Elijah, Elaine and Eva Hauber and Matthew and Joshua Machler; one great-grandchild, Morgan Machler; and three sisters, Daisy Greer, Judy DeWitt and Debbie Eaton, all of Louisville.
One grandson, Nick Machler, preceded Mrs. Hauber in death.
Mrs. Hauber had lived in Michigan City for most of her life. She was a bookkeeper for many years for the Lubeznik family. She attended Countryside Christian Church in Michigan City. Mrs. Hauber had also attended Commonwealth Business College.
