Billy "Bill" Carl Smith, 65, of Union Mills, passed away on Wednesday, June 14, 2017 at Franciscan Communities Hospice in Michigan City.
Bill was born in Waverly, OH on April 19, 1952 to Homer and Betty (Robinson) Smith.
Surviving are his beloved children, Carla (Tom) Tefft of Valparaiso, IN, and Billy Smith of Union Mills, IN; grandchildren, Cayden, Logan, and Chloe Tefft; and brother, James Smith.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Sally Smith; brother, Bob Smith; and sisters, Rhonda Henrichs and Margaret Budd.
Bill enjoyed fishing, hunting, riding his Harley and participating in many charity runs. He served honorably in the US Army. Bill was employed at Valmont Industries for over 25 years.
Cremation has taken place with Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center, La Porte.
A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at 12 PM (CST) on Saturday, June 24, 2017 at Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center. A time of visitation will be held from 10 AM until the time of service on Saturday at the funeral home.
