Bobby J. Roan, 71, of La Porte, passed away on Monday, August 3, 2015 at his home.
Bobby was born in Danville, AL, on November 16, 1943 to Ira Roan and Mildred (Cooper) Mearse.
On December 16, 1963 in Apopka, Florida he married Mary B. Stewart who survives in La Porte. Also surviving are his daughter, Pheebe (Steven) Monroe; grandchildren, Zachary, Quinn, and Alyssa Monroe all of La Porte; daughter, Robin Roan-Sanders; grandchildren, Alexandrea and Brittney Sanders both of La Porte; son, Timmen (Hope) Roan; grandchildren, Morgan (Mason) Roan Funderburg, Evan Roan, and Jacob Roan of Murfreesboro, TN; sisters, Pat Kirby, Nancy Scruggs, Josie (Gene) Brown of Alabama; many nieces, nephews, church family at First Freewill Baptist Church of Rolling Prairie, friends, and extended family.
He was preceded in death by his parents as well as his sister, Betty Tanksley.
Bobby was an avid reader and his family was the most important thing to him.
A Celebration of Life Service with full military honors will be held at 11 AM, Friday, August 7, 2015 at Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center with Pastor Verlin Combs and Rev. Glen Johnson. A time of visitation will be held from 5-8 PM on Thursday, August 6, 2015 at Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center and also from 10 AM until the time of the service on Friday at the funeral home.
