Biography Bonnie Kay Palen, age 65, of Granger, IN, passed away on Sunday, August 16, 2015 at Briarcliff Nursing Home in South Bend. She was born on February 5, 1950 in La Porte, IN, the daughter of John and Lavina (Smith) Shoue. On January 11, 1971, she married George Palen; he preceded her in death on March 18, 2013.
Surviving are her daughter, Brenda (Jose Martinez) Palen of South Bend, IN; son, Brian (Crystal) Palen of Winamac, IN ; four grandchildren, Jose, Brittany, Ashley, and Allan; and two step-grandchildren, Brandon and DJ; two great-grandchildren, Amiah and Alexandria; and a sister, Kathy Myers of Granger, IN.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.
Bonnie enjoyed playing online games and loved to spend time with her grandchildren.
Family and friends will be received from 2-5 PM (CST) on Wednesday, August 19, 2015 at Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center. A private cremation committal will follow.
