Brett Allen Tanksley, age 42, of La Porte, IN, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, August 13, 2016.
Brett was born on October 13, 1973 in La Porte, IN, to Talmadge J. and Barbara J. (Borgen) Tanksley.
He is survived by his beloved children, Kasey (Randy) Mansker and Jessica Tanksley, both of Michigan City, IN; his father, Talmadge Tanksley of Danville, AL; a sister, Jenny (Ashley) Jones of Lewisburg, TN; and a brother, Daniel Tanksley of Moulton, AL. He was preceded in death his mother, Barbara Tanksley in 2008.
Brett was a truck driver with his father at Tanksley Trucking for over 10 years before becoming disabled as the result of a motorcycle accident. He loved mechanics, old cars, playing the guitar, and shooting pool.
A cremation committal will take place with Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center, La Porte. The family will host a memorial gathering for family and friends beginning at 12 noon on Wednesday, August 17, 2016 at the Fish Lake American Legion Post 400, 302 Lakeside Drive, Walkerton, IN 46574.
