C. Wayne Dipert, 85 years old of Kingsbury, IN, died at 10:05 P.M., Friday, September 3, 2010 at LaPorte Hospital.
He was born December 9, 1924 in Walkerton, Indiana, Son of Lewis E. and Lela L. Rough Dipert.
On May 29, 1968 in Union Mills, IN, he married Nancy E. Wilson.
Surviving are his wife, Nancy E. Dipert of Kingsbury; daughters, Janice L. (Robert) Morrison of LaGrange, GA., Clarice (Brad) Lubs of Newalla, OK., Sue E. Zobrist of Indianapolis, IN., Myrna L. Dipert of Walkerton, IN; son, Daniel W. (Darla) Dipert of Walkerton, IN.; 3 grandsons, Wayne R., Jason, and Jeremy Morrison of South Bend, IN.; sisters, Velma Shores of Walkerton and June (Robert) Holt of New Haven, IN.
He was preceded in death by his parents, 3 brothers and 1 sister.
He was General Manager and Co-owner of Kingsbury Locker Plant for over 30 years, retiring in 1985. He was co-founder of Dipert Angus in 1984.
He was a member of Tracy United Methodist Church; Walkerton American Legion Post 189; LaPorte VFW 1130; North Liberty Masonic Lodge 266 F&AM; Orak Shrine; South Bend Scottish Rite; LaPorte County Fair Association Board Director; Washington Township Advisory Board Member; Walkerton Historical Society; Senior Bowling League; LaPorte Hospital Volunteer; Kingsbury Cemetery Sexton; World War II Veteran who served in the Western Pacific (Phillippines), receiving 5 decorations including the Phillippine Liberation.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 10 A.M. CST, Wednesday, September 8, 2010 at Tracy United Methodist Church, with Pastor Bob Coolman officiating.
Interment will follow in the Kingsbury Cemetery with full military honors.
Friends will be received on Tuesday, September 7, 2010 from 3-8 P.M CST. at the Cutler Funeral Home, LaPorte, IN, and on Wednesday from 9-10 A.M. at the church. A Masonic Memorial Service will be held Tuesday at 7 P.M.CST, at the Funeral Home.
