Carl "Sunny" J. Lindewald, 78 years old of LaPorte, Indiana, died Friday, March 20, 2009 at LaPorte Hospital .
He was born Saturday, December 20, 1930 in LaPorte, Indiana, Son of the late Carl J. Lindewald, Sr. and the late Elizabeth (Stephan) Lindewald.
He was an Army Veteran of the Korean War, serving in the Military Police from 1948-1952. He was discharged from the Army in 1954. He was a 1948 graduate of LaPorte High School.
He worked as a Lineman for General Telephone Company, retiring in 1988. He was a devoted fisherman and enjoyed the many lakes that surround LaPorte.
Surviving are his Sister, Elaine Dunifon of LaPorte, Indiana, Nieces, Mary Perez of La Porte, IN., Georgia Cathey of Seymour, IN., Diane Blevins of Naperville, IL., and Gary Dunifon of Columbus, OH.
He was preceded in death by his Parents, 2 brothers, Charles W. Sr. and Robert P. Lindewald.
Friends will be received from 9-11 A.M., Friday, March 27 at the at the Cutler Funeral Home, LaPorte, IN.
Services will be held at Cutler Funeral Home, Friday, March 27, 2009 at 11 AM with Rev. Steve Laue officiating.
Interment will follow in Pine Lake Cemetery, with full military honors.
