Carol Patricia Klenk, 63, LaPorte, died at 5:35 a.m. Sunday (Oct. 5, 2003) in her home.
A private family service will be at a later time.
Visitation will be 3 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Cutler Funeral Home, LaPorte.
Mrs. Klenk was born Oct. 17, 1939, in Tinley Park, Ill., the daughter of Joseph and Matilda (Kraatz) Machtemes.
On Feb. 6, 1960, she was married to Donald Klenk, who preceded her in death on Sept. 25, 1984.
Surviving are three daughters, Denise Klenk, LaPorte, Darlene (Ed) Spottiswood, Lansing, Ill., and Diane (Dean) Karlovich, Valdese, N.C.; seven grandchildren; three sisters, Lucille Plunkett, LaPorte; Geri Manning, Palatine, Ill., and Patricia Beedon, Hazel Crest, Ill; and one brother, Leroy Machtemes, LaPorte.
Mrs. Klenk also was preceded in death by her parents, four sisters, Lorraine Reeks, Adaline, Evelyn and Eleanor Machtemes, and three brothers, Joseph, Leonard and Jimmy Machtemes.
Retired from the Prudential Life Insurance Company, Mrs. Klenk was a member of the 1957 graduating class of Bremen High School, Midlothian, Ill. She enjoyed oil painting and gardening.
