Carole Jean Kuzmin, age 73, of La Porte, passed away on Saturday, November 19, 2016 at Golden Living Center in La Porte, IN. She was born in Chicago, IL, on June 6, 1943 to Earl and Lorine W.(Martz) Born. On March 17, 1978, she married Patrick Bernard Kuzmin in Lansing, IL; he preceded her in death.
She is survived by her beloved daughters, Jacqueline (Steven) Wolfe of La Porte, IN, and Karen (Eric) Gallespie of Colorado; sons, Douglas (Nicole) Graham of St. Louis, MO, and Walter (Rita) Kuzmin of North Judson, IN; seven grandchildren, David Kuzmin, Sara Graham, Casey Norton, Sabrina Kuzmin, Amanda Kuzmin, Peyton Culbert, and Carson Graham; two great-grandchildren, Kimmy Nicholson, and Magdalana Bopp; a brother, Donald (JoAnn) Born of New Lenox, IL; a sister-in-law, Ruth Born of Orland Park, IL; a daughter-in-law, Veronica Kuzmin of Michign City, IN; and a special young lady, Lily McKechnie.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a son, Michael Kuzmin; and a brother, Robert Born.
Carole owned and operated Walt's Auto & Tire in Calumet City, IL for many years with her husband. She was a member of Galena Baptist Church, enjoyed oil painting, bird watching, and gardening.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 5 pm on Wednesday, November 23, 2016 at Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center. Deacon Ron Bauer will officiate. A private family committal will take place at a later date at Pine Lake Cemetery, La Porte, IN.
A time of visitation will be held from 3-5 pm on Wednesday, November 23, 2016 prior to the service at the funeral home.
