Charles Albertson, 61, of LaPorte, Indiana, died at 3:30 a.m. on Tuesday, April 11, 2006 at his home. He died of cancer after a 16-month illness.
A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday April 22, at the First Church of God with Rev. Jeff Zigler officiating. There will be no visitation. Cremation has taken place.
Charles was born January 26, 1945, in LaPorte to Charles & Betty (Farrar) Albertson, Sr. On July 30, 1983, in LaPorte, he married Linda S. Hoyt, who survives.
Also surviving are sons Brandon Albertson of LaPorte and Tony (Sheila) & Brian (Tonya) Albertson, both of Rolling Prairie, IN; granddaughters Holly, Heather, Brooke & Emma; sisters Sue Galloway of Stillwell, IN, Judy Duensing of LaPorte, Bet Igou of Scottsburg, IN, Deb (Duane) Capron of Stillwell, and Marcia (Wilbert) Strefling of Port Charlotte, FL; brothers John (Tina) Albertson of LaPorte, Robert Albertson of Stillwell, and Rick (Angela) Albertson of Rolling Prairie; and mother Betty of LaPorte.
His father, brother Ronald Albertson and sister Sandy Okresik preceded him in death.
Charles had worked at American Home Foods for 14 years. He had also worked in maintenance at LaPorte Hospital for 9 years and had been disabled since 1995.
He was a member of the Fish Lake Conservation Club and Wayne's Channel Café Pool League. He was also a 4-H parent and sponsor for 10 years.
