Charles Curtis Daniels, 87, of La Porte, passed away on Monday, June 13, 2016 at Wellbrooke of South Bend.
Charles was born in Lackey, KY, on September 3, 1928 to Everett Arnold and Effie (Smith) Daniels.
On February 3, 1950 in Garrett, KY, he married Dorothy Patrick who survives. Also surviving are his beloved children, George Everett Daniels of Louisiana, Linda Lukac and her significant other Scott Zander, Teresa (Andrew) Tibbs of Roswell, GA; daughter-in-law, Brenda (John) Clark; brother, Floyd Daniels of Garrett, KY; sisters, Sharon Gibson of Marysville, OH, Lillian (Darrell) Forson of Marysville, OH; ; grandchildren, Mary Daniels, Shana (Tom) Ford, Allyssa Daniels, George Daniels, Kristi (Tim) McCormick, Jerry (Brandy) Lukac, Matt (Tara) Tibbs, Ryan Tibbs; 14 great- grandchildren; 1 great, great-grandchild.
Charles was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Judith Irene Daniels; sisters, Corna Lee Watkins and Sue Combs; brothers, James Daniels and Everett Arnold Daniels, Jr; and a sister-in-law, Peggy Sue Daniels.
Charles served honorably in the US Army. He loved his farm, the Lord, and his family, especially his grandchildren. Charles was an ordained Deacon in 1980 and was a devoted member of First Free Will Baptist Church.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 10:30 AM on Friday, June 17, 2016 at First Free Will Baptist Church.
A time of visitation will be held from 5pm - 8pm on Thursday, June 16, 2016 at First Free Will and from 9:30 am until the time of service at the church. Interment will take place following the service at Oak Grove Cemetery with full military honors.
