Charles F. Enochs, age 85 of Kingsford Heights, IN, passed away on September 7, 2012 at La Porte Hospital. He was born January 9, 1927 the son of the Late Earl T. & Grace Marie (Beck) Enochs in Green County, IN.He was married on February 9, 1945 in Sullivan, IN to Doris Swaby, she preceded him in death on July 14, 2012
He served his country honorably in the United States Army during both WWII & the Korean War. He was a member of Light House Assembly of God Church of Kingsford Heights for over 50 years. During those years he was a Deacon and had served as the Sunday School Superintendent for 35 years. He retired from Teledyne Casting Service after 43 1/2 years of faithful service. He will always be remembered for loving his family, being a loyal friend to all who knew him and always lending a hand to those in need.
Surviving are daughters, Marilyn Sue (Philip) Wainscott of Pineville, N.C., Wanda (Mark) Gilbert of Kingsford Heights, IN; sons, Dickie (Peggy) Enochs of Salem, OR, Danny Enochs of LaPorte; and David (Lauri) Enochs of Kingsford Heights, IN; grandchildren, Mark Wainscott, Eric Wainscott, Shelly Ferrari, Roger Enochs, David Nelson, Teri Enochs McCullough, Kimberly Hector, Rick Enochs, Courtney Enochs, Cody Enochs, Aaron Gilbert, Sue Ann Nelson; 17 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild; and one brother, Earl T. Enochs Jr. of Patoka, IN.
He was preceded in death by his wife; parents; five siblings, Hershall, Ernie, and Bernice Enochs, and Elsie Dishman, and infant sister Doris Marie Enochs; and a great granddaughter Lillian.
Friends will be received from 4 - 8 PM Wednesday, September 12, 2012 and from 10 - 11 AM Thursday, September 13, 2012 at Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center, LaPorte, IN.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held 11 AM Thursday, September 13, 2012 at the funeral home with Rev. Jerry Parritt and Rev. Jason Safirt officiating. Interment will follow in the Tracy Cemetery, Hamlet, IN where full military honors will be conducted.
Contributions may be made to the Kingsford Union Volunteer Fire Department or Kingsford Heights American Legion.
