Charlie Tisch, 84, of LaPorte, Indiana, died at 7:50 p.m. on Saturday, May 20, 2006 at LaPorte Hospital.
A private family service will be held at a later time. A time of visitation with the family will be held on Tuesday, May 23, from 2:00-5:00 p.m. at Cutler Funeral Home. Cremation has taken place.
Charlie was born May 19, 1922 in Yonkers New York to Charles and Dorothy (Doremus) Tisch. On January 17, 1948, in Garden City, New York, he married Brenda J. "Jackie" Day, who preceded him in death on July 29, 2002.
Survivors include daughter Laura (Chris) Kauffman of Davenport, IA; son Andrew C. (Mona) Tisch of LaPorte; grandchildren Bryan C. & Shannon Tisch and Charlie & Elizabeth Kauffman; and special care-giver Kathleen Dudeck of LaPorte.
His parents and a brother, Cort Tisch preceded him in death.
Charlie was a retired sales representative. He had served in the Army Air Corps during WW II and was 33rd Degree Mason. He was a former member of the Orak Temple and was a member of the Beechwood Senior Men's Club. He was a master gunsmith and was a former member of the Michigan City Rifle Club. He also volunteered at the Kesling Auto Museum.
