Charles Ray Parrish

Charles Ray Parrish, 89, of Hamlet, passed away on Thursday, June 8, 2023 at Northwest Health - La Porte.

Charles was born on June 19, 1933 in Trumann, AR, to Jasper and Ethel (Campbell) Parrish.

On January 24, 1976 in La Porte, he married Della Housley who survives.  Also surviving are his daughters, Pam and Paula Parrish, both of MI; stepdaughters, Linda Hux of La Porte, Shelby Garcia of FL, and Rebecca Hootman of La Porte; 3 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; 1 brother, Don Parrish; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded by his parents; son, Larry Parrish; 1 brother; and 1 sister.

Charles proudly served in the United States Army as a PFC.  He was honorably discharged in October 1957.

Prior to retirement, Charles worked for many years in a factory.  He was a member of the Kingsford Heights American Legion.  Charles enjoyed camping, traveling, dancing, music, and gardening.

Charles and Della enjoyed 47 years of marriage.  He was a beloved husband, father, stepfather, and friend.  Charles will be dearly missed.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, June 12, 2023 at Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center with Pastor John Noble officiating.  Burial with Military Honors will follow at Tracy Cemetery.

A time of visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service on Monday at the funeral home.
