Charles Frederick "Fred" Vorm

Charles Frederick “Fred” Vorm, 92, passed away on Thursday, May 24, 2018 at Porter Regional Hospital in Valparaiso, IN.
Fred was born on January 1, 1926 in North Judson, IN to Charley and Esther (Anderson) Vorm.

On March 1, 1947 in North Judson, IN, he married Arlowa Schuyler who preceded him in death in 2003. Surviving are his beloved children, Kathy Vorm, of Portland, OR, Nancy (Steven) Vorm, of Salt Lake City, UT, Fred (Renee) Vorm, Jr. of McMinnville, OR, and Richard (Rita) Vorm of Elkhart, IN; 6 grandchildren, Philip Sauer, Haven Vaughan, Weston Vorm, Lyndsey Cox, Clark Vorm and Dustin Vorm; 4 great-grandchildren, Zachery Sauer, Kathleen Sauer, Schuyler Podell and Isis Cox.

Fred was also preceded in death by his parents and wife, Daisy Lain.

Fred graduated high school from Culver Military Academy, followed by the US Merchant Marine Academy in 1946. Fred retired as President from American Oak Preserving Company, Inc. in 1985, was a member of the North Judson Lodge #438 F&AM, the Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite in South Bend, and the Ancient Order of the Mystic Shrine-Orak Temple in Michigan City.

Cremation has taken place with Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center, La Porte, IN. A Celebration of Life will take place at 2 PM (CST) with a time of gathering from 12 PM until the time of the service, Saturday, June 16, 2018 at Chesapeake Run Golf Club, North Judson, IN.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be directed to the North Judson Park Beautification Committee, or to the donor’s choice.
