Charles "Chuck" Howard Burkhart

Charles "Chuck" Burkhart, 68, passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 14, 2018 at IU Health Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis, IN, following a short illness.

Chuck was born on February 4, 1950 in Gary, IN, to Howard and Alice (Becker) Burkhart.

On May 20, 1995, he married Wanda (Hammonds) Stone who survives.  Also surviving are his 3 sons, Jonathan Burkhart, David (Melissa) Stone, and Joshua Stone; 2 daughters, Kristina Yacconi and Michelle (Rick) McVay; 4 grandsons, William Stone, Shane Kodie, Mathew Stone and Jacob McVay; 7 granddaughters, Malin, Jina, and Jade Yacconi, Brittoni Stone, Anya Wyse, Alexandria and Lily Stone; 1 sister, Esther Biller; 2 nephews, Mike and Eric (Janice) Biller; and special friends, Lori and Haley Binversie, and Dion Ortiz.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Patrick Burkhart; and daughter, Susan Stone.

Chuck worked for Bethlehem Steel in Burns Harbor, IN, for 32 years.  He loved his family, especially all of his many children and grandchildren.  He enjoyed working on the computer, listening to all types of music and a good cup of coffee.  Chuck was loved greatly and will be missed by all who knew him.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 10 am (CDT) on Saturday, July 21, 2018 at Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center.

A time of visitation will be held from 9 - 10 am (CDT) on Saturday prior to the service at the funeral home.  Burial will follow at Salem Cemetery.
