Charles "Ted" Theodore Daube, 84, of Walkerton, passed away on Saturday, March 3, 2018 at Miller's Merry Manor in Walkerton.
Ted was born on July 28, 1933 in Walkerton, IN, to Charles Alvin and Alma Olga (Pope) Daube.
On August 1, 1953 in Hamlet, IN, he married Irma Jean Hayter who survives. Also surviving are his beloved children, Michael (Kelly) Daube and Susan Daube; 2 grandchildren, Julie (Bob) Likens and Derek (Kelly) Daube; 2 great-grandchildren, Rosemary and George Likens; brother, James (Lois) Daube; 2 sisters-in-law, Nancy Daube and Joyce Daube; brother-in-law, Robert (Patty) Hayter.
He was preceded by his parents and 2 brothers, Louis and David Daube.
Ted was a farmer and worked ten years at the South Bend New Energy Company. He was a US Navy veteran. Ted was a member of the Masonic Lodge and the Shriners. He was the Johnson Township Trustee for 28 years and served on the La Porte County Drainage, Solid Waste and Zoning Boards. He was a life long member of La Porte County Farm Bureau. Ted was also a member of Tracy United Methodist Church.
Ted's favorite pastimes included hunting, fishing, mushrooming and spending winters in Florida.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 10 AM (CST) on Thursday, March 8, 2018 at Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center with Pastor Ann Dill officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery in Walkerton.
A time of visitation will be held from 3 -7 PM (CST) on Wednesday, March 7, 2018 and from 9 AM (CST) until the time of service on Thursday at the funeral home.
