Charlie Clapp, 70, of Michigan City, Indiana, passed away at 9:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 23, 2007 at his home.
A private family service will be held on Saturday, February 3, at Pine Lake Cemetery with the LaPorte Honor Guard officiating. There will be no visitation.
Charlie was born March 15, 1936, in Pocahontas, Virginia to the late Willie & Marie (Miller) Clapp.
Survivors include daughter Cheryl (Steve) Wenzel of LaPorte; grandson Tyler S. Wenzel of LaPorte; stepdaughters Sally Blodgett of Santa Cruz, CA, Lizzie (Greg) Auble of Ft. Collins, CO, and Mary (John) Prater of LaPorte; stepsons Tom (Tammy) Gross of Michigan City and Steve Gross of Mission, TX; sister Lillian Hart of Hunting Beach, CA; and brother Freddie Clapp of Locust Fork, AL.
A brother, William Clapp and stepson Bobby Gross preceded him in death.
Charlie had retired from Boilermakers Local #374. He was also a US Army veteran of the Korean War. He loved his family, his cats, cooking and gardening.
