Cheri Skwirtz, 58, of LaPorte, Indiana, died at 3:50 p.m. on Saturday, March 5, 2005 at LaPorte Hospital.
A funeral mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March 9, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Rev. Ian Williams officiating. Visitation will be held from 2:00-8:00 p.m. on Tuesday at Cutler Funeral Home. Burial will take place at a later time.
Cheri was born December 16, 1946, in Hammond, Indiana to Harvey & Frances (Boyd) Brewer. On August 31, 1968, in Calumet City, Illinois, she married Ray Skwirtz, who survives.
Also surviving are children Carrie Ann (John) Cooney of Naples, FL and Mark Skwirtz of Longmont, CO; grandchildren Tyler, Brett and Lauren Cooney and Gabriel Skwirtz; brothers Darrell (Lan) Brewer of Lakevilla, IL and Dennis Brewer of California; godchild Amanda Lucas; several nieces and nephews; and sister-in-law Bonnie Lucas.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Randy Brewer.
Cheri attended Sacred Heart Catholic Church and was a member of the Polish Falcons. She was also an avid bowler, bowling on several leagues.
