Cheryl Lynn Allen, 60 years old of LaPorte, IN passed away surrounded by her loving family, Monday, November 15, 2010 at home.
She was born July 9, 1950 in Fort Wayne, IN., daughter of Keith and Sharon Gephart who survive.
Cheryl was married on August 18, 1968 in Ft. Wayne to John (Jack) Allen for 42 years, who survives. Also surviving are her son; Dr. Thomas (Mary) Allen, daughter; Tina (Scott) Pierce, four grandchildren; Nathan & Abigail Allen, Noah & Sarah Pierce, three brothers; Bill (Denise) Gephart, Tim (Shar) Gephart, Mark (Kim) Gephart, one sister; Christine Brantley, parents; Keith & Sharon Gephart, special in-laws; Pastor David (Ginny) Allen, Bill (Marge) Allen and 13 special nieces and nephews.
Cheryl graduated from Indiana Academy in 1968 and from Purdue North Central in 1986 with a Degree in Nursing.
Cheryl was a member of LaPorte Seventh Day Adventist Church. She worked as a Registered Nurse at LaPorte Hospital in the Stress Center for 2 years, in OB for 10 years, then she was Nursing Supervisor of LaPorte Hospital.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents; Karl Vought, Velma Vought, Helena Dahman, Carolina Benecke and special aunt Marge Benecke.
Cheryl loved her grandchildren, lying on the beach, trips to Disney World, and shopping.
Friends will be received Friday, November 19, from 4-8 PM and Saturday from 1-2 PM at the Cutler Funeral Home, LaPorte, IN., with a Celebration of Life Service at 2:00 P.M.
Private family burial on Monday Nov. 22 in the Pine Lake Cemetery, LaPorte, IN.
