Cheryl Lee (Zimmerman) Lower

Cheryl Lee Lower, 66, passed away on Monday, July 10, 2023 at Northwest Health - La Porte.

Cheryl was born on January 29, 1957 in Michigan City, IN, to Chester and Selma (Robbins) Zimmerman.

On May 18, 1991 in La Porte, IN, she married Dennis who survives.  Also surviving are her children, Christopher (Lisa) Hicks of La Porte, Shannon (Audrey) Hicks of Cape Coral, FL, and Stacey (Bruce) Mosley of La Porte; 8 grandchildren, Brooke (Scott) Jasinski, Bailey Hicks, Conner Hicks, Meghan (Jonah Yerian) Hicks, Catarina Hicks, Kellen Hicks, Madison Mosley and Tanner Mosley; 3 great-grandchildren, Cole Jasinski, Caleb Jasinski and Anastasia Yerian; brother, Bruce (Judy) Zimmerman; sister, Yvonne (Glen) Frank;  as well as many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and special aunt, Bonnie Jania.

Cheryl was a systems administrator for over 20 years at Roundy's.  She was a member of  the National Audubon Society.  Cheryl enjoyed bird watching and family genealogy.  She was passionate about all things nature, which was expressed through her love of traveling, particularly to the National Parks.  Over the years, she was the pack leader to many 4 legged companions, who she had irresistible love for.

Cheryl's family will fondly remember her as Willie Nelson's #1 fan.  She was a Cubs fan despite her husband, Dennis, being a devoted Cardinals fan.  Beyond baseball, music, and nature, Cheryl's ultimate pride and joy, were her grandchildren, who could do nothing wrong as far as Cheryl was concerned!

Cremation has taken place with Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center, La Porte.
