Christopher Michael Bangs

Christopher Michael Bangs, 28, of Rochester, MN, formerly of La Porte, passed away Thursday, January 14, 2021 at Mayo Clinic.

Christopher was born on August 16, 1992 to Stuart and Sandra (Curry) Bangs.

Surviving him are his parents; sister, Melissa (Matthew) Henderson of Shelbyville, IN; 1 grandmother, LaVon Hines of La Porte; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Howard and Elsie Curry of La Porte, Herbert Hines of La Porte, and Clarence and Lois Bangs of Kankakee, IL.

Christopher was a member of the Presbyterian Church of La Porte.  He was an avid sports fan, especially cheering on the La Porte Slicers, Purdue Boilermakers, and Chicago Blackhawks.  Christopher enjoyed listening to music and playing his guitar.  He enjoyed many family trips including Disney World, Seattle, New York City, and a Make-A-Wish trip to L.A. for the 2004 NBA All-Star Game.

Christopher was brave, loyal, and had an inner strength which will be missed by his family and friends.

A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, January 30, 2021 at the Presbyterian Church of La Porte, 307 Kingsbury Ave., La Porte, parking lot.  Those attending the service may listen to the service via their car radio and/or join Zoom (https://us02web.zoom.us/j/83578886856?pwd=bjhyVGt4UDM1ODhmZlpFdVNHZFNvdz09 or call 1-312-626-6799, meeting ID: 835 7888 6856, password: 199142).  Burial will be private.
