Clara Baker, 99, of LaPorte, Indiana, died at 2:20 a.m. on Wednesday, March 15, 2006, at Fountainview Terrace Nursing & Rehabilitation Center.
A funeral service will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 18, at Cutler Funeral Home with Rev. Dee. Miller officiating. Visitation is on Saturday from 11:30 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will be in Door Village Cemetery.
Clara was born October 1, 1906, in Rensselaer, IN to George and Daisy (Ellis) Seible. On August 30, 1945, she married Harry T. Baker who preceded her in death on October 23, 1989.
Survivors include grandsons George (Loretta) Mueller Jr. of LaPorte, Jeff Christenson of Arkansas, Joe (Ann) Christenson of Texas; granddaughters Marie (Steve) Emerson of Cape Coral, FL and Jan (Pat) Davis of Arkansas; 11 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandchild.
A daughter, Dorothy Mueller, a son, Daniel Christenson, and sisters Helen Wilkens and Laveena Rose preceded her in death.
Clara had worked as a clerk at Harveys Dime Store and Mochler Grocery. She was a member of Door Village United Methodist Church.
