Clinton Noel Buckland, age 83, of Michigan City, IN, and formerly of LaPorte passed away on Tuesday, September 11, 2012 at Sterling House in Michigan City. He was born December 17, 1928 to Marvin and Mable "Mable" (Allen) Buckland in Hinton, WV. On November 12, 1955 he married Lois Wills in Hinton WV, she preceded him in death on June 10, 2001.
He is survived six children, Linda S. Riley of Mishawaka, IN, David W. Buckland of Fish Lake, Dianna L. Buckland-McGinnis of Fish Lake, IN, Sherry A. Koth of Michigan City, IN, Clinton N. Buckland Jr. of LaPorte, IN, and Marvin M. (Tina) Buckland of Michigan City, IN; 19 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren; 4 siblings, Leeoma Ormiston of Statesville, NC, Juanita Morgan of Oak Lawn, IL, Ronald Buckland, and James (Janet) Buckland of Beckley, WV. He was preceded in death by his wife of 46 years, his parents, and 2 siblings, Chlorine Weaver & Orval Buckland.
He served his country honorably in the United States Army from 1951-53. He was an avid fan of John Wayne and loved to play cards and Bowl. He also attended Faith Baptist Church for many years.
A celebration of life service will be held at 11 AM on Saturday September 15, 2012 at Cutler Funeral Home & Cremation Center with Rev. Dan McDonald officiating. Burial will follow at Pine Lake Cemetery in LaPorte.
A visitation will be held on Friday September 14, 2012 from 6-8 PM and from 10-11AM prior to the service at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be directed to Center for Hospice Care, Inc. Hospice House, 111 Sunnybrook Court, South Bend, Indiana 46637.
