Cora Smith, 81, of Hanna, Indiana, died at 8:10 a.m. on Friday, September 10, 2004 at Countryside Place Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in LaPorte.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, September 13, at the Cutler Funeral Home with Rev. Jerry Schweitzer officiating. Visitation will be held from 3:00-7:00 p.m. on Sunday. Burial will be in the Hanna Cemetery.
She was born February 6, 1923, in LaPorte, Indiana to Basil & Cora (Mandeville) McGee. On August 22, 1942, she marred Wilbert A. Smith, who preceded her in death February 16, 1969.
Surviving is a daughter, Marjorie (Ronald) Cuff, Hanna, IN; sons William ?Bill? Smith, Hanna, John (Pam) Smith, LaPorte and Wilbert ?Webbie? Smith, Hanna; grandchildren Michele, Michael, Mary, Matthew, Mark (Charlene), Mitchel (Christina), Melinda, Margaret, Martin, Molly & Morgan Cuff, Melissa (Mark) Owen, Jason, Adam (Stephanie), Christopher and Eric Smith, Roberta (Tim) Gearheart and Rebecca (Brian) Lindsey; 9 great-grandchildren; brothers Robert (Geri) McGee, Fish Lake, IN and Thomas McGee, LaPorte; and sister Betty (Perry) Snyder, Breman, IN.
She was preceded in death by her companion of 33 years, Burl Downs of Knox, IN and an infant child.
She was a member of the Michigan City Art league. She also loved to paint and cook.
