Craig Alan Beckwith, 73, passed away on Thursday, February 10, 2022.
Craig was born on July 13, 1948 in Niles, MI, to Rodney and Cleo Beckwith.
Surviving Craig are his sons, Eric Kreitner of Watervliet, MI, Cory Beckwith of Austin, TX, Steve (Tammy) Beckwith of Niles, MI, and Doug Beckwith of Niles, MI; 8 grandchildren, Daulton Britton of Niles, MI, Rivir (Kourtney) Britton of Niles, MI, Jenna Kreitner of Watervliet, MI, Shane Kreitner of Watervliet, MI, Brianna Reynolds of Granger, Sierra Beckwith of Niles, MI, Shyanne Beckwith of Niles, MI, and Matthew (Andrea) Baldwin of Niles, MI; fiancé of 30 years, Ellen Thomas of La Porte; brothers, Rodney (Georgia) Beckwith of Howell, MI; Brian (Mary Jo Saratore) Beckwith of Niles, MI, and Henry (Louise) Beckwith of Crossville, TN; and nieces and nephews, Aaron Beckwith of Niles, MI, Rodney (Micki) Beckwith of Pinckney, MI, and Deborah (Todd) Gardner of Southfield, MI.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Craig was a Pipe Fitter for many years with Local 172. He proudly serviced in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam Era, serving in Vietnam August 6, 1968 through August 7, 1969. Craig earned the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal with 3 Bronze Service Stars, The Republic of Vietnam Medal, the Army Commendation Medal with V Device, and the Army Expert (Rifle) Badge.
Craig loved old cars and attending car shows. One of his favorite hobbies was drag racing in his '57 Chevy. He also enjoyed boating. Most importantly, Craig enjoyed spending time with his friends and family and helping them in any way that he could.
Cremation has taken place with Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center, La Porte.
