LaPORTE - Curtis L. "Hookem" Zook, 50, LaPorte, died Friday (Dec. 16, 2005) at St. Anthony Memorial Health Centers, Michigan City.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Cutler Funeral Home, LaPorte, with the Rev. Dan McDonald officiating. Burial will follow in Patton Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday and 10 to 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Mr. Zook was born Dec. 9, 1955, in LaPorte to Donald E. and C. Juanita (Clark) Zook.
Surviving are his mother, Juanita Zook, New Port Richey, Fla.; three brothers, Mark Zook, Rocky C. Zook and Ron L. Zook; and extended families the Arnetts, Johnsons, Cloughers and the Fish family.
He was preceded in death by his father, Donald Zook.
Mr. Zook worked at Tech Data in New Port Richey, Fla., until moving to LaPorte three years ago, and was working at the Michigan City Courthouse.
He graduated from LaPorte High School in 1974. Mr. Zook was a life-long LaPorte Slicer fan and assisted coaches Joe Otis, Bob Strieter, Jack Arnett, Chuck Smith and Mark Johnson. He was the Lazers softball coach.
He was also a member of the Slicer Booster Club, PNA Club and softball member and was vice president of the Pop Warner Association.
Memorials may be given to the Slicer Athletic Club or LaPorte Pop Warner Football Association.
