Daniel John DeKnight

Daniel John DeKnight, Sr., 62, passed away on Friday, November 15, 2019 at his home.

Daniel was born on March 6, 1957 in Chicago, IL, to Edward DeKnight and Marian (Roether) Cabaniss.

On January 3, 2014 in La Porte, IN, he married Diane Gesek who survives.  Also surviving are his children, Becky (Juan) Alvarez of Huntley, IL and Daniel (Kim) DeKnight of Logansport; 5 grandchildren, Jasmine, Miles, Weston, Landen, and Jase; sister, Donna (Zoran) Terzic of Streamwood, IL; half-sister, Tiffany (Jon) Geisler of Cincinnati, OH; 2 brothers, Edward (Sharon) DeKnight, Jr. of Lombard and Gary (Debbie) DeKnight of Streamwood, IL; as well as many nieces and nephews.

Daniel served honorably in the US Army.  He was a retired truck driver.

Daniel enjoyed playing cards especially "neighbor show down" euchre, going to "the boat", hosting Thanksgiving, and most of all spending time with his family.

Cremation has taken place with Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center, La Porte.  A private family service will take place at a future date.
