Daniel Lee Pauley

Daniel Lee Pauley, 83, of Inverness, Florida, passed away on Saturday, September 26, 2020 at La Porte Hospital in La Porte, Indiana.

Daniel was born on June 1, 1937 in Georgetown, IN, to Carl M. and Olive Alice (Siferd) Pauley.

On September 13, 1956 in Michigan City, IN, he married Sarah Jane Wible who survives.  Also surviving are his children, Mark Pauley of Port Orange, Florida,Terri (Roy) Fadder of St. Augustine, Florida, Kathrin (Bobby) Heward of Mount Dora, Florida, Glenn (Becky) Pauley of Dowagiac, Michigan, and Rodney (Shannon) Pauley of Kalamazoo, Michigan; 11 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; as well as several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Patricia Hart.

Daniel grew up in Michigan City, Indiana where he graduated from Elston High School in 1955.  In Glenview, Illinois, he joined the Navy and was stationed in San Diego, California on the USS Hornet Aircraft Carrier CVA12.  After his service in the Navy, he worked for NIPSCO as a Quality Control Room Operator at the Michigan City Generation Plant for over 25 years before he retired in 1993 when he and Sarah bought a camper and spent the next many years traveling and sightseeing.  In his retirement years, he also enjoyed fishing, hunting, and camping.  Currently, Daniel lived in Florida having moved there from Three Oaks, Michigan.

The family honored Daniel's wish to be a tissue/organ donor.  Cremation has taken place with Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center, La Porte.  A private family service will take place at a later date.
