Darlene S. Barbknecht, 80, of La Porte, passed away on Sunday, March 27, 2016 at Golden Living Center La Porte.
Darlene was born in Chicago, Illinois on May 13, 1935, to William and Louise Loepke.
Darlene was married to Duane "Dewey" Barbknecht who preceded her in death.
Surviving are her beloved children, Sue (Steve) King of La Porte, Bruce Barbknecht of La Porte, and Lori Miller of La Porte; five grandchildren, Katy, Beth, Brittany, Brandon, and Kelly; six great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Gloria Harness and Marie Kieras.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; brother, William Loepke, Jr.; and daughter, Donna Barbknecht.
Along with her husband Dewey, Darlene owned and operated the family farm in Hamlet,as well as their retail business, Farm Fertilizers in Stillwell.
A cremation committal has taken place with Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center, La Porte. A Celebration of Life Memorial Visitation will be held from 3 to 7 p.m. (CST) on Friday, April 1, 2016 at Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center. No Service will be held.
